But he has no parents? How can he have a recessive gene for green eyes? It was then I remembered that he kind of did used to have parents…before I deleted them while still being in CAS. How could the baby have green eyes when only dark blue and light blue alleles were available? So I turned to our old friend SimPE, opened up the father’s DNA, and to my surprise it said that he had green eyes as a recessive gene. One with dark blue eyes, as expected, and one with…green eyes. The guy was freshly out of CAS with no parents (so homozygous for dark blue eyes) and the girl had both her parents pass on the gene for light blue eyes so she was homozygous for light blue eyes. So I had a dark blue eyed guy have a baby with a light blue eyed girl.
